Fondée par des avocats spécialisés en immigration et en droits humains, l’Artistic Freedom Initiative (AFI) ou Initiative pour la Liberté Artistique (ILA) offre une assistance juridique pro bono et un accompagnement à la réinstallation pour les artistes internationaux en danger.

AFI/ILA est née de la conviction profonde que les artistes, par leur regard unique et leur créativité, ont le pouvoir de provoquer des changements positifs et profonds — à condition que leurs voix puissent être entendues. Alors que de plus en plus d’artistes sont censurés, emprisonnés, empêchés de circuler librement, torturés ou même tués, il est aujourd’hui plus essentiel que jamais de défendre la liberté artistique et de soutenir sans relâche ces voix courageuses.

AFI/ILA apporte un soutien concret aux artistes ayant subi des persécutions, des actes de censure ou toute autre forme de restriction à leur liberté d’expression. Nous accompagnons également les artistes engagés dans la promotion du changement social et des droits humains fondamentaux.

Enfin, nous travaillons aux côtés des artistes en exil pour valoriser leur art, encourager les échanges culturels, contribuer à améliorer les conditions d’expression artistique dans leurs pays d’origine et protéger leur liberté de création partout dans le monde.

Led by immigration and human rights attorneys, Artistic Freedom Initiative Geneva (AFI/ILA)) facilitates pro bono immigration representation and resettlement assistance for international artists at risk.

Dedicated to safeguarding the right to artistic freedom, AFI Geneva was founded on the notion that artists are uniquely situated to positively and powerfully effect change, provided their voices can be heard. As artists are increasingly censored, imprisoned, restricted from moving freely across borders, tortured, or even killed, it is more critical than ever that we safeguard the right to artistic freedom and zealously champion the courageous artists who exercise it. 

To this end, AFI Geneva directly assists artists who have experienced persecution, censorship, or other restrictions on their freedom of expression, and supports artists who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing progressive social change and fundamental human rights.  

We work with immigrant artists to champion art produced in exile, advance creative cultural exchange, improve conditions for artists in their home countries, and safeguard their ability to express themselves creatively through the arts.
